The gutter grrls (gg’s) are a collaborative artist group working in mixed media, digital photography, performance, installation, and film.  Conceived at the local bowling alley in 2001 (the site of their first exhibit), they began altering digital images of their Bay View neighborhood.  Soon after, the gg’s decided to invite their audiences to participate in their art, including community and chance as key players.  The gutter grrls prefer not to take themselves too seriously, giving both themselves and participants in their events permission to retain or alter their identities and realities as their comfort levels allow.
